This release and title song pays homage to all seafaring crews and tries to capture in an uplifting way the camaraderie and unity required to face the hardships and difficulties of sailing the oceans, especially in the years of sail.
It is not about pirates or warships but rather regular merchant sailing ships and sailors that braved the high seas, risking their lives to make a living and to support their families. The cover features the boatswain’s whistle, used to give the orders in the floating kingdom that is each ship. It’s sound features in both songs.
Kingdom of the Sea is the featured track, showing this camaraderie and calling all of us to join in! There is a reference to Shakespeare in the lyric ‘we happy few travelling braves’, referring to the salt of the earth people manning the ships that built empires.
