Metal in the Mountains returns for its sixth year with another fresh cohort of Aussie bands sourced from all corners of the heavy scene. Entrenched in the centre of Beechworth on grounds overshadowed by the notorious Old Beechworth Courthouse, the open-air show will feature eight acts on one huge stage, art by local legends, the Madman’s Gully bar, an alternative market, food trucks, DJ Mal Function, and the Jamswells open mic crew.
The local populace may have been warned, but there is no way they can be truly prepared for what will be unleashed on November 29. Hitting the stage this year are the legendary Frankenbok, In Malice’s Wake, Goat Shaman, Saralisse, Whisperhead, ESP Mayhem, Sufferance, and Oblivion. This is a smorgasbord of the tastiest heavy music on offer; each act will uniquely champion their sub-genre, and not one of them is worth missing.
The show is family-friendly, and under 18s are welcome provided they are accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Most other standard rules apply (no BYO, no pets). Tickets are selling now through Humanitix
