Today, GRAMMY Award winning band Halestorm revealed Everest, their sixth full-length studio album on Atlantic Records. For Everest, the band teamed up with GRAMMY winning producer Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton), and, according to Grammy.com, “That unique pairing produced a collection of songs that truly showcases the raucous quartet’s artistic diversity. The quiet moments feel more intimate, and the loud moments particularly angry and intense.”
The band will unveil a video for the newest single, Like A Woman Can, a sultry, bluesy tribute to bisexuality, at 10pm AEST Friday 8 August via their YouTube channel. According to lead singer Lzzy Hale, “‘Like A Woman Can’ is Venus asking Mars to meet her in the middle while in the midst of a bisexual awakening.”
Everest comes on the heels of the band’s fiery European tour with metal icons Iron Maiden. The UK’s Metal Hammer said of opening night, “Before all that, it falls to Halestorm to take on the famously unenviable task of warming up an Iron Maiden crowd – a task they ace pretty effortlessly, in fairness. Decades in and arena headliners themselves at this point, the Pennsylvania rockers also have the ace in the hole that is Lzzy Hale, whose screams, croons, cries and shrieks reaffirm her status as one of the best singers of her generation. Half of their support set is comprised of tracks from imminent album Everest, and you can understand why they’re feeling confident about it: the new material sounds excellent.”
