UK modern prog trio Ihlo have shared their new single Mute. It is the third single to be released ahead of their new album, Legacy, out on August 29 and comes with a brand-new music video produced by Andy Robison.
Speaking on the new single, the band shared the following: “Mute was a song that had been a work-in-progress not long after Replica‘s completion. The main building blocks of the song were established quite quickly, however, knowing which direction it would take after the first couple of minutes was something that kept us wondering for a long time! Digging into influences from ambient electronic sounds like ‘Boards Of Canada’ and vaporwave cult legends ‘2814’ was the secret spice we needed to not only elevate the track, but also allowed us to dive deeper into a different side of our sound. At first glance, some might consider it to be the obligatory ballad of the album, yet we’d say it hides a much deeper character to Ihlo that shows up all across the album, and that we would love to explore more in future.”
