In the wake of the release of their third album, Chrome Dipped, and a mammoth international tour, CIVIC will hit Australian shores for a run of headline shows next month. Joining CIVIC at each show will be South Australian post-punk 6 piece, Coldwave. In addition, the tour will also have local supports at each show. Joining them in QLD will be Kings Currency, in NSW Antenna and Blamers will open, and in VIC they’ll be supported by NPCEDE and Wombat.
Known for their raw, adrenaline-fueled sound, CIVIC pushes beyond the boundaries of their ’70s Australian punk roots on the LP, marking a bold shift into new sonic territory while retaining their sharp intensity.
The album explores themes of loss and grief following the death of frontman Jim McCullough’s mother, as well as broader existential reflection. Ultimately, Chrome Dipped is about casting off old shells—both musically and emotionally—and finding meaning in the messiness of evolution.
